"Gleichheit, Gemeinnützigkeit, Globaler Export: Das DIN Institut und die Normung der Moderne circa 1922"
Gegründet als gemeinnütziger Verein 1917 zur Förderung der Rüstungsproduktion, normte das DIN Institut bald vom Papierformat bis zur Badewanne alle Teile der Architekturproduktion. In diesem Vortrag skizziert Anna-Maria Meister die Mitwirkung moderner Architekten wie Walter Gropius an dieser deutschen Institution in der Zwischenkriegszeit.

"Constructing the Non-aligned Friendship: Energoprojekt in Zambia"
Between 1960 and 1990, the Yugoslav construction company Energoprojekt worked across Africa, Asia and South America. In this talk, Dubravka Sekulić will focus on Energoprojekt’s presence in Zambia and analyse the institutional formats it developed in order to mediate between socialist self-management and an international market.

"Quasi-Institutionen der Umweltbewegung in der europäischen Architektur und Planung"
Im Europa der 1970er und 1980er Jahre waren erste ökologische Ansätze im Architektur- und Planungskontext zu verzeichnen, die ihren Ursprung im alternativen Milieu hatten. Der Vortrag betrachtet das Wirken von sogenannten Quasi-Institutionen am Beispiel des Ausstellungsprojekts «Umdenken Umschwenken» in Zürich (1975) und der Forschungsprojekte unter Leitung von Margrit Kennedy an der IBA Berlin 1984/87.

"Cosmopolitans and Cosmopoliticals: Architectural and political imagination after the global"
The lecture will interrogate the relation between current explorations of a cosmopolitical architecture aimed at spatializing political debates on global matters of concern, and the previous legacy of modern architectural approaches towards globalization.
